Cranky Cat

Cody is not happy. Winter is wearing on him. It's too cold to sit on the porch and the snow is too deep to walk around the gardens. He wants to eat. A lot. He has been begging for nip more often and he has started picking fights with Cricket just so he can chase her around. She will only tolerate so much of that before she starts hissing and crawling under the sofa. I can sympathize with him because I am so sick of the cold and snow too. Maybe in March we will finally turn the corner. I'm thinking that I might pick up some new cat toys this weekend. I need to find something that will appeal to his stalking and hunting instincts. My poor little cat bear! Hurry Spring, please!

Oh poor Cody. When all else failaround here I get out my measuring tape and trail it behind me as I walk around the house. Miss Peach is too old to play, but she is intrigued by it and will follow. She seems to be very happy sleeping the days away right now in her down vest sleeping bag. She can open it with her paws, crawl in, look out for the all clear sign, pull her head back in, and cuddle down for a looooong nap. Mommy wants to climb in there with me but she is just too big to fit.

I also wanted to tell you just how much your beautiful card meant to me today. Holly Pond Hill is one of my favorites, Susan Wheeler is a sweet artist:) The scene with the tea party bunnies touches me so much because my mother and I would have coffee and work puzzels on her dining room table every time I visited her. It brought a tear to my eye in remembrance and I will treasure your choice in cards forever...how did you know?
Thank you so very much...Karla

Have you ever heard of a "Cat Dancer"? It is a silly little toy, very simple, but we go wild with it sometimes! It sort of looks like a bug if our mom moves it just right. http://catdancer.com/catdancer.htm

I hope Spring will come soon for all of us!

I think Cody would love a Cat Dancer! It is one of my favorite toys, and it makes you run and leap and have fun.

Oops, after I published my comment I saw that JB also recommended the Cat Dancer.

I know what you mean.
Daphne & Chloe were chasing me around last night until I whap-whap-whapped 'em into their rightly places.
Fev-ver butt rattle mice works for me to help with those "gotta catch something and tell it whose boss" urges.
Isis LOVES the Cat Dancer that Daisy sent to Jazper in a Secret Paws. Not The Mama has it hooked up so she can play with it whenever she wants... of course, right now, she has a little plastic birds' egg out of a decorative nest in the store, and is trying to get it into the fountain...

Time for a nap!

PS: Not The Mama can't remember if he said THANK YOU for the birthday card!
Him being yakky and all the past few days...

Cody needs some new toys, I agree.
Caesar used to be a pest and the Nip made him naughty. oooh he used to make me mad. He would bite me when he was bored. Yes, I would hide under the couch too.
Mommie got me some new nip toys and I do not get wild and silly anymore but I do like to eat some nip. My new toy, I lick it until it is soaked
:-)

Thanks for your encouraging words.
Yes, we know your pain. Mommie is getting braver.. but still sometimes just can't believe Caesar is really gone and then she goes over the last days and gets sad.

Is Cody in a better mood today? Did you get him any new toys? You could also just crumple up a piece of paper and flick it with your finger across the room....that is another one of my favorites!
I'm easy....it does not have to be anything fancy! Just as long as my mom plays with me!

Mommy wanted me to be a good girl and come say bye until next week. We will miss you so very much while we are away. It is always hard to go away even if it is for a short time. I need to pack my litter girls room and my sleeping vest burrito all of my cans and biscuits and bring my house water. Gosh it is a major feat of organization! Stay warm and have a cozy peaceful week...Love Miss Peach
ps: Mommy loves the card you enclosed and has taken off with it and I havent seen it since. Something about reading what it said on the back...recycling this card in a creative manner...she LOVES to do just that! Stay tuned for the results...
