Pray For Billie... Please

I am sorry I have not been visiting. Billie is very sick. She has bouts of very loose stool and vomiting. She will seem to feel better and then it will happen again. My husband thinks it's just a bug and it will pass. I am not so sure.
I have had to bathe her and that has been hard on her. I am being very gentle and wearing thick garden gloves so she does not scratch me.
My husband wanted to bathe her, but I said no. He is too rough and impatient. He is also very frustrated with the vet bills.

My family likes my cats, but that's just it. They are my cats and just pets to them. Cute when they are playful and healthy and inconvenient when they are sick. He even told me I would have less heartbreak if I didn't have cats.

I will be getting Billie to the vet as soon as I can. She is eating little amounts and drinking water. Right now she is hiding under the sofa and very angry with me for bathing her. I feel awful for upsetting her, but she smelled so bad and she is such a mess.

It will be one year since Tookie went to the Rainbow Bridge on June 4. Now, I'm afraid I will lose Billie. I feel very alone in my sadness. It gives me some comfort to know that there are some who understand.

I will try to update as much as I can. I'm just so very tired of sad things happening. I will try to visit when I have a chance. Please purr and pray for Billie. Hope that the vet can help her and that I'm doing my best to care for her.

I'm thinking no one is going to want to read my blog because I'm always sad. I'm sorry. Thank you for understanding. Please have a good weekend.

Maybe Billie just ate something that wasn't good for her? Is she an indoor cat? Because an outdoor cat would eat some grass to make herself throw up (sorry to be graphic!) if that happened. Maybe you could try getting her some greenies from the pet store in the meantime, since you are waiting to visit the vet?

You did right to bathe her, too! Cats may not like baths, but they don't like being dirty, either! So she might seem mad now, but she will get over it soon. And it's really good she is drinking water! If she has eaten something bad, that will help to flush out her system. Sounds like you are taking good care of her.

This is a special hug weekend, and so we are sending out extra hugs to you and to Billie! We hope she gets well soon. You can always email our Mom if you want to vent or need another pet owner to talk to. She just lost a kitten two months ago to FIP, and she knows how very, very sad it is when a pet is sick and you are afraid you might lose them. This is an email address for her: vbruss@cfl.rr.com.
But Billie may feel all better soon if it is just a tummy problem from eating something that disagreed with her!

Here's a dozen roses and big hugs from us to you!

Hmmmm.. Well, WE think you would have less heartbreak if you traded HIM in on two or three more cats. Where else can you get love and cuddles whenever you want?

Sending healing purrrss to Billy & her Meowmie, and a big bag of poop to a clueless husband.

I will purr and purr and purr for Billie. She is a furry floofy kitty, no wonders she is upset at the bath (we kittys usually do a goods job without beans help).

TT

Please know, that no matter what others may say, your cats are your family too, which is something I totally understand. We hope that Billie will get well soon and send her some healing thoughts!

Hi... this is our first visit here, and it's nice to meet you... are you a Himalayan like we are? Or are you Persian? Whichever, you're quite beautiful... and you live in our (former) "mitten" state... how awesome. Please give lots of thought to possible shaving; we did it not long ago to our Zoey and it was a HORRIBLE event... feel free to write when you're happy, when you're sad... and all the in-between times too! We around the Cat Blogosphere will share all those feelings with you. Take care, be well soon little Billie... and come visit us sometime at Zoolatry. Bye now, from Maggy and Zoey.

Oh my dearest Lorianna! I just felt something was not right with you yesterday! All day I was having you on my mind! Now I know why. Poor sweet little Billie. To not feel well is one thing but to have to go and get washed is very hard for her. When my Persian Miss Minka was sick like Billie, I would scoop her up and hold her tuss under the running warm water of the sink spout. This helped her not have to get fully into the water of a BATH. One person holding the kitty and another person washing her tuss would be even better. Then towel dry or just let her go and run away to sulk. Water drinking is a good sign. Cook her some hamburger mixed with white rice and stop the cat food for a bit until you can get her to the Vet. She may just have a tummy bug and some antibiotics will help clear that up.
I am so sorry and wish I were there to help you with this cleaning routine. I know your hubby means well...but men are blunt at times and that breaks our gentle hearts. Please know how much we all care. We will not leave you alone to go through this by yourself. Please keep us up dated and {{{SOFT GENTLE LOVING HUGS}}} from your Miss Peach & Karla

We came back - we sure don't want to scare you, but do take her to the vet to get checked out. Another kitty we know had similar symptoms because he had swallowed a piece of rubber and he had to have an operation to remove it. We pray that it's just something like a "kitty flu" and that she'll be fine with medicine. Another alternative to the bath might be to use the kitty wipes (like baby wipes, but for kitties), though with all that fluff she might require water after all. Poor sweetie! Purrrrrrs to both of you!

Mr. Hendrix said...

oh poor Billie. we will send many many purrs and prayers her way to get all better, and your way for comfort. what a pretty pretty girl she is.

it is so hard when a furry friend is sick. my mommy understands what you mean about how others view her relationship with me. i'm more than just a pet and so is Billie. Billie knows you love her and that is a great comfort to her, believe me.

everyone goes thru sad patches. what is important is to remember that you are not alone, and even if it is friends on the blogosphere, you have shoulders to lean on.

update when you can, and we'll keep you in our thoughts.

Hi, So sorry to hear Billie is sick. You've got a lot of good advice from people. Such a pretty girl. Miss Peach had some good advice about bathing or hosing down just the rear area, I used to do that with my mini-mini poodle.
Here in the Cat Blogosphere, we're used to sharing everything, the good the bad and everything in between. We are definitely more than fair weather friends.
We'll put you and Billie on the Pet Purrs and Purrayers blog so everyone will know. And please keep us posted.
Get well, Billie.

PURRRS. Lots of purrrrrs!!!! We are so sorry that Billie is sick. It could just be a bug - Mrs. OZ had this happen once too - but only for three days then she was better. And it might have been some detoxification because it was when she came to us first and got all the healthy food and air and water.
We are also so sorry that your family does not understand. It is hard for our staff to actually comprehend that people might not see pets as equals, as loved companions who give us so much!
We think if Billie continues to vomit and pass lose stool you have to bring her to the vet because she will get dehydrated! We can always try and do a fund raiser if you need money!
But it sounds as if it really just maybe is a bad bug.... we will purr and purr and purr and purr.
Keep us updated - we will keep you in our thoughts!
