I think I Need Some Asprin...

Toeshee; the picture of innocence. Mmm... See those delicious cream curls that would have been so yummy with coffee or tea? Did a pack of wolverines get into them? No, a naughty kitten with a sweet tooth did.

My poor angel lamp! It looked so pretty near the mantle casting a soothing glow in the living room. Toeshee saw it as an obstacle as he bounced off the walls one day. I may be able to glue the tip of the wing back on, but the cracked arm is another story. If the wiring isn't damaged maybe some polymer clay painted to match?

I told him he has until his one year birthday on March 18th to sow his wildness. After that he must calm down and be a respectable and gentlmanly mancat. I don't think he listened. I love him anyway.

My other kitties are not impressed with his behavior either. After the lamp fell, they gathered around and sniffed and looked at me, then Toeshee. "Oh no, you didn't!" One by one they slunk away, leaving him with me and the lamp. I glared at him. "Toeshee, why?!?"
He ran and hid in the cat carrier I keep around for his time outs. He knew he'd committed a major boo boo!

It's a good thing he's so darn cute!

I hope everyone has a happy, naughty free day! <3

What Dreams May Come

Have you ever had a dream that stays with you long after you wake up? A dream that seems so real that you know as long as you live, even if you never have that dream again, you will never forget it?

A few months ago I had such a dream and I have debated sharing it. My dear friend Karla encouraged me to finally do so because really it is very hopeful.
(Oh no, Lorianna's flights of fancy again!)

I dreamed of a white Victorian gingerbread trimmed house. It was pristine and lovely and filled with an amazing warm pale light that streamed through all of the windows. Outside were gardens filled with flowers and ponds with gurgling fountains and the whole yard was enclosed with a brick wall covered in ivy. Cats of all sizes and colors and breeds lazed about perfectly content. I felt as if I knew all of them! And in the house there were fountains in a beautiful solarium filled with plants and even more kitties. They batted at the water, they napped and I could hear their purrs. They squeezed their eyes and meowed at me as I stopped to pet them and whisper to them. I noticed bookshelves overflowing with books and again, this amazing, comfortable warm light enveloped me.
Still, I had this sense of missing something and I began to move about with a sense of searching. I knew who I was looking for and amongst all of the sweet kitties that I was so happy to see I just HAD to see HER. Then, a soft woman's voice said. "You will see her again, soon. She's here."
Then, I woke up. Tears filled my eyes because I didn't want to leave that wonderful place. Try as I might, I could not fall back asleep and into that dream.
Since then, I have had other dreams that have stayed with me of course. I dreamed that I was petting Tookie and I could truly feel how soft her fur was and her whiskers tickled my hand.
But, that house filled with light and kitties and plants; that will always stick with me. I think, somewhere, it's real and someday I will go there when the time is right. I think and hope there is a place for all of us with special meaning, designed just for us. There, those who have gone before wait for us.
Oh, that picture of the white gingerbread Victorian is almost exactly like the house in my dream. I found it while doing an image search. It's called The Cheshire Cat Inn. I thought that was pretty cool... (^;^)

Let's All Get Cozy On A Sunday Evening

It's Sunday evening here all ready! We woke up to the white stuff floating down this morning, but it did not stick. That may change soon, as it is very cold. Billie has a new napping spot in the recliner by the heat register. She's pretty smart huh? :)
I went to Art Magic for some pretty seasonal pictures. I like just browsing around; my own little art museum on my laptop. We have a brand new art museum right downtown, but I have not been there yet. There's some new exhibits there I would like to see, so maybe that would be a nice way to spend a cold day.

In other exciting news; ;) I bought a new tea kettle yesterday! (sigh, I know, I am so snoozy!) But, it whistles and everything! Yes, the kitties hate it. I must attend to it as soon as it goes off because the have such sensitive ears. Maybe in time they will get used to it.
So, now that it officially snowing and cold I am doing my count down to spring. Not counting this month, there are 4 more months until March. I refuse to contemplate the fact that we usually get snow in March. I have to do what works for me to get me through the winter. :)
So, don't worry, soon the Easter Bunny will be here and flowers will bloom!
I think I'll go start my kettle now...

Through A Kitty's Eyes Of Love

~ A cat's eyes are windows enabling us to see into another world.~
Irish Legend

There is always a cozy spot to be found in this house if you are a kitty. Snacks to munch on, cool water to sip. A loving hand to pet and scritch, a soft voice to speak words of endearment and flattery.

Cricket gazes out the bay window and I wonder what she thinks and what she really sees.
It comforts me to know that she and my other kitties do not have worries or cares because I am here for them. Do they know that I need them as much as they need me? (Well, would a cat ever admit they really need anyone?) ;)

Sometimes people in my family tease me about my love for cats and my lack of "a life". I try not to let it bother me though. When one spends every day at home, in a certain level of physical discomfort and a little melancholy sometimes, you appreciate those who are truly there for you.

Right now Billie is next to me. I have a slight fever and I'm due for some pain reliever and a nap after I get some chores done. Between typing I am petting her and asking her what she wants for a snack. She purrs every time I touch her. See, she appreciates me too.

I will try to visit all of my nice bloggie friends as much as I can. I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend!

Come on Billie, let's get some nom noms! (^;^)

Rain is Better than the White Stuff, Cody!

It's a rainy November Day. Cody says, "Momma, let's go out and walk around the garden."

"No honey, it's too chilly and rainy."

Toeshee is enjoying watching the leaves flutter to the ground. Everything is a game for him. Ah, youth! :)

Billie has decided that the warm hoodie I put in the bathroom before my shower is an excellent cat bed. She often follows me into the bathroom and doesn't mind being shut in there while I clean up. You would think with all of that floof she wouldn't like the heat and humidity the shower causes. I think as she gets older and because she's not always feeling 100% she can't regulate her body temperature as well. I have the same problem. :) We are growing old together my floofy princess and I.

I read something interesting; Cats see other animals more clearly when they're in motion than when they are standing completely still. That's why they can catch fast moving mice. Toeshee can catch a fly when it's in mid flight!

I hope everyone has a happy Wednesday!

Moody Monday

Cricket is sad. It has become very cold here and we are getting ss...snow. :(
She knows that the windows will not be open now until at least May.
As I'm typing this she has gone upstairs to bed. I don't blame her.

I got the new Mrs. Murphy mystery this weekend. It will be nice to curl up with. I also received the pin I bid on in Miss Peach's auction to help some kitties in need. I wish I could have taken a better picture. It is a momma cat and kitten hand made by Mommy Karla. She is so talented! I'm in awe of what she can create. I bet you can see a better picture of it on her blog.

My doctor has me on higher doses of Prednisone. My scalp tenderness is due to vascular inflamation. I forget RA can cause inflamation in areas besides the joints until I get something weird going on like this. I have had rib cage pain, skin rashes, ear joint pain, and eye infamation. Yeesh! I think I'm going to be on that darn Pred forever!
My fingers are pretty much stuck. I can go on another disease modifyer, but there's no undoing the damage all ready done. I just need to learn how to work with them the way they are. I do not want to give up crafting and gardening and typing. I will just need to take more breaks to rest them I guess.
I know there are people with worse problems than this. The Taylor Catsssss Mommy needs serious surgergy. She's bed ridden! I feel so badly for her...

So, that's what's going on. I look forward to visitning my blogging friends this week. Yes, I will try to rest my fingers. To be honest they are hurting a bit right now, but I'm so stubborn! :)

My kitties and I send you Love!

Pretty Inside- Pretty Outside

Today was another warm and sunny day. The leaves were falling like big yellow-gold snowflakes in the breeze. The bright yellow tree is right in front of our house. It's so strikingly bright in the sunshine. My daughter even took a picture too!
In the house, Billie posed for a "Glamour Shot." She was busy washing up before a nap, so I put the fan next to her and took the picture. She was indifferent. :) I have been really busy making sure she is eating enough. I actually bring her food to her if I think she's gone too long without eating. I just hope she stays at stage 1 kidney disease and doesn't progress. People and animals can stay at stage 1 for a really long time without ever getting really sick.
I have to call my Rheumatalogist tomorrow. My scalp has been really sore and tender for nearly two weeks and my fingers are curling in toward my palms more. Stupid immune system! The sore scalp thing is kind of weird though...
Well, I am going to try to do some blog visiting. I keep getting behind!
Happy Almost Weekend!
