Take Time to Hug a Kitty and Smell the Flowers

Too busy! Too Tired!

Hi, it's Billie and Cody here to give an overdue update.

The Teenagergirl graduated from High School. She has been rather irritable since then. Momma calls it growing pains, but she looks all grown to us, so we don't get it.

Momma is getting a hole in her tummy. She says it's an ulcer. She is taking medicine to block acids from making it more hurty. If that doesn't help she may need to get it patched up. That does not sound fun at all to us! She hasn't been feeling well for a while and still needs to nap a lot like a kitty. Her special medicine for her hurty joints doesn't go through her tummy because she pokes herself with a needle for that. It is probably from all her pain medication and all of her silly worrying.

We are doing our best to take care of her. We sit on her lap and purr and eat our food without complaining. She has been very frustrated with feeling so icky sicky all the time. We have all been feeling pretty frisky and healthy and we know that helps with her worries. She hopes her bloggie friends are not disapointed that she has not been by. She promises to be a good girl and take her medicine and rest so she can feel better enough to visit and blog more often.

Lorianna here: I knew something was wrong with my stomach. I had this burning sensation in my upper adomen and I have been so queasy. My PC Doctor put me on Prevacid and I really need to lay off the Ibuprofin and asprin. We will just have to see how it goes. She discussed an antidepressant and perhaps some counseling, but I just am not ready for that. I'm not saying I don't need it. I'm just not sure if it's something I can deal with. I think I just need to stop worrying and letting everything upset me. I think my doctor is ready to give up on me. :) She has brought this up before and I took a pass. No more medicine please! I'm starting to rattle...

Billie and Cody here again: We will make sure to keep Momma cheered up! Cricket will keep her in bed later in the mornings so she can get some rest. Once Cricket is on you, there is no moving until she says so!

Hugs from us all!

Give Somebunny A Hug

Love SomeBunny

I survived the nasty bug that hit me! Things still smell and taste funny and I'm trying to fight the sinus infection without antibiotics. Probably not a good idea, but I have all ready been on one for strep throat last month and my stomach has been queasy enough without adding another irritant to it. So, lots of fluids, vitamins, decongestants and rest for me. As soon as that immune supressant I'm taking for RA really took hold, every germ around has gone after me. My toe is much better too. :) Oh, did that hurt! "Stoopid" sofa!
I can't believe it's almost Easter! I haven't done any shopping for treats or for Easter dinner yet! And, why is it that when Mom is sick the house looks like a tornado has gone through it? How am I ever going to catch up?

Toeshee has a new friend! This little bunny has been around for about a month and her name is Lily. She clucks like a chicken when you press the button on her front leg . He doesn't like the clucking noise though. He does seem to like her whiskers. This will be Toeshee's first Easter. I will have to remember to get the kitties some treats too. Maybe some plastic eggs with Nip inside! That would be fun!

Well, I am going to try to fold laundry and maybe get dishes done. I don't suppose any of my kitties want to help? No... I didn't think so. Kitties have it so easy!
I will try to get to visiting everyone!
Hugs!<3

Is This Week Over Yet?

Nurse Billie and Nurse Cricket

We are taking care of our Momma this week. You name it and she has it!
She caught a head cold that has turned into a sinus infection. She has been sick to her tummy. While feeling awful she had to go to the dentist because one of her teeth had begun to get a cavity near the gumline and it really hurt!
But, what really started her off on a bad foot this week was her fracturing her big toe on the living room sofa! Cody was barfing up a hairball and momma was hustling to get some newspaper for him to barf on. The stoopid sofa jumped in her way and she hit her toe on it's leg! she says it's a hairline crack, like a cracked eggshell, so it should heal soon.
Today she is up for a bit and has had a popcicle. Her mouth and throat are so dry. She is all stuffed up too. Billie and I are watching over her.

Billie:
"I am helping her blog for us right now! Momma you look a little green, don't barf okay, because I can't get newspaper for you!"

Cricket:
"Billie she won't barf here. Momma, maybe you better lay down again. I'll let everyone know that we are still around, we love you and we will try to visit soon."
Hugs<3 from us!

A Game of Cat and Mouse

Cat and Mouse

Last Friday evening was rather mild here for March. I was feeling a bit yucky and watching t v while my husband carried in some groceries. My daughter and her friend had just returned from a movie. The back door was open and not being closely watched. Cody took the opportunity to run outside.
"He'll be fine. " My husband said. "It's nice out Mom." My daughter said.
"He's a black cat out in the dark and we're around the corner from a busy street!" I cried. Needless to say, I was worried sick. I kept opening the door calling for him and going from window to window looking for him.
Finally, my husband went to the back door and called for him. Cody trotted into the backyard meowing loudly. He walked into the back porch, which is enclosed and continued meowing. My husband turned on a light to see what was wrong. Cody proudly dropped a mouse onto the floor.
He was all ready rather uh... chewed up. :( My husband let Cody stay on the back porch with it and came in. "Cody's back. He's fine."
"Oh, thank goodness! Where is he?"
"On the back porch eating a mouse."
"Oh ick! Couldn't you rescue the poor thing?"
"Nope, too late. Besides, Cody is so happy and proud. It's just a little snack."
Men!...
If I had known, I would have tried to save the mouse, but from the sound of it, I would have been too late. This wouldn't have happened if, everyone had been paying more attention. I'm just grateful my Cody made it home safe and sound.
"Psst, Cody here. Hee hee! What can I say? Mouse is tasty!"

I am now on an antibiotic for strep throat. I had a feeling that's what was going on. I have to stay off of the Methotrexate until I finish it. My throat is starting to feel a bit better. It was really painful. Maybe by this weekend I might actually feel half way decent.
I hope everyone is having a good week. Billie, Cody ("mouse breath"), Cricket, Toeshee and I send hugs and purrs.

Fun For Toeshee

Fun for Toeshee

We received a very nice surprise yesterday. Dante, Yaffa and Sebastian and their Mommy Mimi sent Toeshee a fun filled package for his Birthday which is next week. He will be a year old!
Dante and Toeshee are both very very naughty kitty boys. Toeshee's naughtiness is back in full force after a brief try at being sweet. I guess he's decided that being bad is more fun. (I wonder if I have Cricket to thank for that.)
I think the green ribbon looks quite fetching on Toeshee. It will be great for St. Patrick's Day which is the day before his B-Day. I should have taken a picture of the pretty package. It was wrapped so nicely. The kitties smelled the Nip right away! They all agree, Brooklyn Nip is Primo! :)
Yesterday, I finally felt well enough to get out of my pajamas. I have been just taking hot showers and putting my thick fleece pj's back on. So, I put on some jeans and a sweat shirt and tried to catch up on some housework. By late afternoon my throat started to hurt and I had a sinus headache.
Yup, this morning I woke up with a very sore throat and swollen glands. The medicine I'm on is shutting my immune system down so it stops attacking my joints, so now I can catch every virus that's lurking around. This one came from my daughter. Everyone at her school is sick!
Oh well, at least I'm coming out of the nasty flare that had me crawling into bed all week. I sure hope this throat/sinus thing doesn't send me back! Cricket sure likes to have me to nap with though. :)
I am looking forward to free time to visit everyone. After I work my way through the dishes I can see my way clear to being almost caught up.
Next time I will have to tell you about Cody's adventure and the poor little mouse that met an unfortunate end. I know cats will be cats, but if I had known what was going on I would have intervened and helped the poor thing get away. :(
I hoped you enjoyed Toeshee's cuteness! Have a happy day and we send you hugs and purrs!
