Mancat Silliness

Mancat silliness

Here are Cody and Toeshee showing off how silly they can be. They always seem to know when I need a little comic relief. Cody loves to drink out of my water glass. (No, I do not drink from it after he does.) :)
And Toeshee... Well, what can I say? Look at his belly!
"Ladies, this could ALL be yours!" Such a floof monster!

Spring came to Michigan in it's usual way; snow... So not funny! It melted by Sunday afternoon and I'm really hoping that's the last of it. We have crocus blooming and they didn't seem affected.

I saw Little Black Cat again. He ran from me when I tried to feed him. I feel so badly for him. I came in from that crying and my husband said that he wished strays wouldn't come to our house, because it always makes me sad.
But, if they didn't come to me, would anyone else feed them? I wish the world was a kinder place. Why can't the world be like our little Blogosphere?

Well, the sun is out and the temps are warmer, so I will try to be grateful for the little things.
I hope you all have sunny days and silly pets to bring a smile to your face!

Happy Mew Year 2010

Happy Mew New Year!

Hi everyone! Cody here as the senior cat, wishing on behalf of all of us, Happy New Year!
We hope it's super wonderful for all of you!

Momma has been a little busy caring for Teenagergirl and resting due to a flare-up from going off her nasty RA medicine. She is helping us visit a little tonight and hopefully continuing her visits throughout the long weekend.

Hugs and Purrs Everyone!

Kitties and Catch Up

Toeshee can't help himself!

Mr. Cody?

What? Can't you see I'm trying to nap?

Why does this tree look real, but taste like plastic?

Because it's not real and it is plastic. You're not supposed to be chewing on it anyway. Every time you do, you get a squirt from the squirt bottle. Which, honestly, I think is hilarious!

Hey! That's not funny!

Hi, Lorianna here. It's been pretty quiet here with random bouts of naughtiness. Oh! I just looked out the window. Snow! Ick! I am not a fan of winter. The sun is out, so maybe it won't last.

We are feeling a bit low this season. My husband's dad has found out he has bladder cancer. He is very tough though and has pulled through both lung and colon cancer a few years ago.
Money is a wee bit tight now. My daughter's tuition bill has arrived and it will take a huge bite out of our bank account. Christmas should be interesting...

But, we must take each day as at it comes and try to enjoy the little things. That's why I'm so grateful for my kitties. They certainly can take one's mind off troubles with their cuteness.
The other night my husband picked up Toeshee and held him like a baby and Toeshee fell asleep in his arms! It was so precious; a twenty pound furry baby! :) My husband said, "I need to go to bed, but I don't want to put him down!"

Today I am keeping Misses Peach in my thoughts as she is not feeling well.
I am also keeping Sweet Praline's Mommy Paula in my thoughts because she has shoulder surgery tomorrow. Lots of Love and Purrs to them!

It's December all ready... My countdown to Spring starts now!

Have a happy rest of the week!

Thankful For The Sweetest Gifts

Everything Sweet. Especially the kitties!

Hey everyone! Cody Mac Boldly here to say hi and Happy Thanksgiving!
I am feeling so much better. I have to take this goopy stuff to keep the hairballs away, but I have put on weight and am eating really well.

The other kitties; Billie, Toeshee and Cricket are all good too.
As you can see sometimes Billie and Toeshee will share floof and body heat. Momma loves it when they do that.

Cricket is trying to be her usual glamour puss self. She has such a Diva complex! Again, Momma thinks this is adorable too and calls her Queen! (snort! Whatever!)

Me? I'm Mr. Easy Going. I try to be well mannered and thankful. I'm 15 years old, so every day is pretty good for me as long as I get stinky goodness and baby talk and pets from Momma.

Momma made herself very busy today. She made a pumpkin pie and hopes to make those little cakes tomorrow. If you want the recipes just ask and she will post them. Us kitties just want the turkey!

Her hips are a little bit hurty, so she's going to take some medicine and start doing some Blog Hopping so we can say hi to you all.
If we don't get to you, just know that we totally Love You All!
Okay?

Have a really great rest of the week and if you celebrate turkey day make sure you kitties and woofies get your fair share of bird!

Hugs~
Cody ~

Home is where the heart and kitties are

Taking it Easy

Hi efurryone! Miss Billie here to say hi, just because I wanted a turn.
Momma bought a new extra snuggly blanket and spread it out of the sofa for her and me to share. I snuggled into it and she covered up with it and watched scary ghost stories on the telly.
It is a dark sea glass faux suede on one side and curly fleece on the other.
We like it a lot.

Cody is still doing better. He's eating well and barfed up a hairball early this morning. He naps a lot. When he saw Momma putting on her shoes and coat to go to the store he got excited because he thought they were going out to explore the gardens. Momma said, "No Cody. No outside today. Maybe later in the week you can go out with me for a little bit."
He has been quite grumpy about this. Fall is hard for him and Momma because when it gets colder and wet they need to stay in.

I am very excited about The Big Halloween Vintage Wedding coming up! Miss Peach will be beautiful and Mickey will be so dashing!

We hope you all have a great Halloween week and we will try to keep up with posting and visiting.

Love,
~Miss Billie~<3

What's in the litterbox, Cody?

Not to be gross...

Hey all, Cody here! I hope I do not offend anyone's delicate sensibilities, but whoa! That goop Momma has been giving me really cleans out the pipes if you know what I mean!

I am feeling much better. I am eating as much as I can anytime I want and I haven't barfed since Thursday. I am breathing better because my tummy isn't in as much hurty and I am pooing twice a day. Momma thinks they may be hairball shaped, but it may take a while to get it all out. I have to take that goopy stuff for several more days, then once a week for maintenance.
I have that yucky pink antibiotic too. Um, note to VETS: Cats do Not like bubblegum!

Now I must gain back the weight that I lost. Toeshee has been a pain, so Momma keeps him away from me. She says that when I feel all better and put some weight on she will let me give him a quick smackdown just to let him know I am the big mancat of the house.

We hear that Miss Peach's kidbean Cole is sick in his tummy too and there are lots of other kitties that are sick as well. We are purraying for all of them to get better!

Thank you all so much for your kind words to help me feel better. I will try to be good about taking my medicine to get rid of all of the hairballs. Momma is working very hard to tend to me and make sure the other kitties get attention too.
She has lots of Blog visits to make and must go grocery shopping to get our Nom Noms. the Vet said I should eat really soft stinky goodness, which makes me very happy!
The other kitties; Billie, Cricket and Toeshee are eating well and seem to be feeling tip top. Even Billie who has had her share of health problems seems to be holding steady.
Momma said no one is allowed to be sick for a very long time!
She will keep you updated on my progress in the poo department and hopefully I will avoid surgery.

We Love You All!
Hugs and Purrs

Cody update

I hate hairballs!

Hi, I'm back with a Cody update. He has two big, nasty hairballs blocking his intestinal tract! Out VET took x-rays and did bloodwork. His kidneys are great, his liver function is just a bit off and his white cell count is up, indicating infection or inflamation in the body. So, he is now on, let me see, Vedalax, which the vet says is like Liquid plumber for kitties and the bubblegum flavored Amoxicillan. She says 90% of the cats she sees with hairball blockages pass them within a couple of days on this stuff. The rest need surgury to remove it.
I am praying that Cody can just poo all of this out of him. He was dehydrated too, so she gave him sub q's before she sent him home with us, along with a booster shot of antibiotics and a big finger full of the Vedalax. He has to have that 3 times a day for 5 days.
The Vet said, that for 15 Cody has very good organ function. If he bounces back from this and puts on the weight he lost over the past week, he should be in great shape for a senoir cat.
It's hard to believe just this past Monday he was in the garden with me helping me plant spring bulbs and last night he started getting so sick.

I am sitting with him in my little craft room keeping him company. He has his water, mushy wet cat food and a litter box with only a little pee in it yet. I just want him to go potty and get rid of this! Oh, his tummy is full of gas too, so you can imagine how uncomfortable he has been. My poor, sweet boy!
He has always been so good and loving and gentle. Just a little fuzzy teddy bear of a kittyboy.
Please continue to purray that he can get through this.
I hope I didn't sound too frantic. I am just not ready to watch him go yet. He needs to see those flowers we planted next spring...

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement. They and You mean more than you can ever know. I feel a bit alone in my love and worry. The teenagers have their own lives and my husband is very irritated about how much this is costing. He likes Cody and even helped give him his medicine tonight, but he wants me to be ready to let go if he can't pull through.
I would gladly give up all of my RA meds and doctor appointments to help my kitties, but he gets upset when I say that.

So, here it is almost 12:30 am and Cody and me are listening to the rain. The other kitties are sleeping. He seems a bit restless, but hopefully he can settle into a good nap.
I just hope by morning I see that nasty hairball in the litterbox.
Not a fun thing to see before coffee, but oh well...

Big Hugs and Gentle Purrs from me and Cody

Please Feel Better

Cody is sick.

My hands are shaking and my heart is pounding in my chest, probably ready for another break...
Cody has been very sick since last night. He can't keep any food or water down and this morning I found him hiding in the little spare room I keep my crafting things in. That's the same room Tookie went to hide in.
Right now he is under the sofa in the living room, making these little growly , groaning sounds. He has a 4:20 appointment at the Vet.

I am scared out of my mind. My husband reminded me that he is 15 and that he has been slowing down and sleeping more. I bitterly reminded him that Tookie was in her 20's when she went to the bridge and why can't Cody live a bit longer?

Why? Why? Why? I don't want to do this again. I swear I spend most of my life asking why and saying it's not fair!

I'm sorry. I know other kitties are sick, or missing and people have lost loved ones. Again, it all seems so unfair and pointless.

I just have this feeling in the pit of my stomach... Please let me be wrong. Let Cody just need some meds and bounce back like Billie did.

I will update when I can.

A September day with Cody

A September Day With Cody

Hi all! Cody here to share a bit of our yard with you. Can you see I am unimpressed with that woodpecker? He was loud!
Momma took me out with her while she let Mr. Sun heat up her joints. Our sunflowers are all blooming and the bees are very happy. Do you see the bee in the sunflower?
Momma has been admiring bird pictures lately. She likes this September Songbird picture a lot. Do you think he would taste good? :) I wonder what woodpeckers taste like?

As a senior cat of 15, I am moving a bit slower these days. Momma is moving slow too. We try to take one day at a time here, enjoying the good and trying to put the bad out of our minds. I am helping Momma around the house as best as I can. Last night, so she wouldn't have to, I opened up a fresh bag of dry cat food and knocked it over so a lot would spill onto the floor. Then us kitties could just help ourselves with night time munchies and let Momma sleep. It worked too! We didn't bother her for breakfast until 9:00 this morning!

Momma said, "Um, gee, thanks Cody!" Then grumbled something about a broom. I told her not to worry about it. Us kitties will just munch on it throughout the day. Just be careful not to step on it when you use the microwave. ;)

We hope you all have a great, relaxing weekend!
Hugs~ Cody

August Garden Tour With Cody

Cody's August Garden Tour

Hello efurrybody! Cody here with our August garden tour. As you may know I am Momma's official cat helper in the garden. She lets me go out with her to weed and water and of course take pictures. I hate it when she drags me inside though.
We are winding down in the gardening season here. This summer was not very good for our flowers. It was very cool with lots of rain. Flowers in the summer need warmer temps and plenty of sun. So do I and Momma! :)

We like our Mr. Sun and his faerie friend Betony. They enjoy the Foxgloves and little garden faeries hide in the Foxglove in the evening.
The pink lily is the last blooming lily of the summer. It is called Rubrium. It's a Turk's Cap. It looks like it has little rubies embedded in it's petals. Momma ordered them from Old House Gardens a while ago.

We like the red and orange Lantana with the purple Pansies in our old Tuscan sun flower pot.

Momma and I have decided that the Hibiscus is not quite dinner plate sized; More like dessert plate maybe. But, still, they are lovely. We are still waiting for the white ones to open and our Sunflowers are not quite open yet. They will probably open this week.
Sadly, today is the last day we will be in the low 80's. We will be getting an Autumnal chill coming in after Wednesday. Bummer!

The two boy kitties are still visiting us and Momma is still feeding them. The Daddyman is not very happy about it. He thinks they need to go to the Humane Society. Momma said No Way! Tigger Roo especially will have a hard time getting a home. Most people don't want older cats like him.
Momma of course wants every kind of cat! What am I going to do with her? :) I'm happy and Lucky that she loves me even though I am an older gentleman.

We will be poppping in on all of you bloggie friends this week. We Never Forget any of You and We Adore You All!
Hugs and Purrs,
~Cody Mac Boldly~

Lavendar Blue and Cody Too

Cody helps pick Lavender (and is Toeshee F A T?)

Hey everyone! It's me; Cody the friendly gardening cat. (I'm the longer haired nice boy black cat of the family)
While Momma picked Lavender yesterday I relaxed on the front porch. Don't worry she watched me like a hawk. I can't get away with anything with her!
She put in on our old front door with a gold ribbon. We think it looks nice in a shabby chic kind of way. There is also some Russian sage with it.

Okay, take a look at Toeshee. Bigafy if you want, but it might take up your whole screen. Hee hee! He is really heavy! It hurts Momma's hands to pick him up! How much are Maine Coon cats supposed to weigh? We think he must be pushing 15 to 2o lbs. Is it time for Iams "Diet" cat food?

Oh, before I go, look at the pretty collage of Tookie and the sweet pictures and poem on our sidebar. Miss Peach's Mommy Karla made that. Momma gets all teary eyed whenever she looks at it. She is trying to gather courage to get some more pictures of Tookie posted. It has been 2 years and a month and we still miss her something awful. She was a great LadyCat.
It is also our 2 year blogaversary. We are grateful for all of the amazing furbabies and beans that we have met. We Love you all!

Hugs and Purrs!
Cody~

Black Cats On Friday

Black Cat Friday

Hello everyone. Cricket here to give my update. We lost our internet for a couple of days, but the Daddyman helped the man at the company figure out what was wrong. Now, we have lots of visiting to do!

We were tagged by Amy and her House of Cats and The Kewl Kitty Crew to post the 6th picture from our 6th folder. Finally Momma remembered! Only, the folder had just 4 pictures. So, she chose the last one. It's Cody outside last August with Momma on our front porch. He can go out at night if Momma is with him. He doesn't like it, but, those are the rules.

Toeshee and I got in a minor scuffle this morning. I settled it with a loud hiss and a good thwap! Momma hadn't had enough coffee yet to get involved.

This weekend will be cloudy and chilly. It's like that right now. After Momma gets our Nom Noms at the grocery store, she will probably just clean and read. Us kitties will nap of course.

We hope you all have a great weekend and I hope all you kitties find something naughty to do!

Hugs!~ Cricket
