The Almost Fight

The Almost Fight

Toeshee: I am thinking about starting a fight!

Cricket: Try it and I will EAT you!

Toeshee: No you won't!

Cricket: Really? Go on. Try me. Come on fluffy butt floof for brains, bring it!
It might take me a while, but I'll chew you up and take a nice bath and nap afterwards.

Toeshee: Gulp... Momma! Cricket is scaring me again!

Cricket: Hee hee! It's just too easy!

Lorianna: All this before I finished my coffee! Happy Monday!

Cricket feels better!

A little privacy please!

Well, really! Momma discussing my personal potty problems! And what that VET did to me? Oh, unspeakable!
I am feeling much better. I'm crabby, but just normal crabby for me, not all growly and hiding.

Toeshee tried to act as if he wanted to be Alpha cat after I came home from the VET. He tried to jump me and start a fight. The nerve! Momma had to squirt him with the bad cat water bottle to get him to stop.

The next day when I felt much better, I let him have it! I hissed and swatted and him until he was cowering and behaving like the big baby that he is. I rule with an iron paw around here and Toeshee needed to remember that!

Momma worried herself into another flare up in her joints. She thought that the Enbrel was starting to help a little, but when she gets worried or upset and the weather gets bad she gets extra hurty. Right now she's worried about me getting tummy troubles again and not keeping up with visiting bloggie friends. She still has the big sads, but she is just accepting it, hoping it will ebb away like the tides. I think she just needs a long winter's nap with me and Billie until the Robins return.

Thanks to you all who sent me well wishes. I think your good thoughts helped me. I might try the pumpkin, but I do not like people food, so I will probably find it unsuitable.

Have a Happy week and remember to be a little bit Naughty Kitties!

Tummy Troubles for Naughty Noodle

Purrs for Cricket

Cricket is at the Vet right now, waiting for x-rays. She has been having difficulty passing bowl movements and threw up her breakfast yesterday. She did not eat at all today. The Vet will check for any blockages or a foreign object, but she isn't usually one to eat strange things, so I don't know...

My poor baby! She was so lethargic this morning and last night, while she did sleep on my legs as usual, every time I moved she growled at me. I know she must be really uncomfortable.

Oh! Just now the Vet called! Cricket had lots of hard poo impacted in her colon! They gave her an enema and she passed some. They want to keep her until early this evening and she may need another enema. Poor Naughty Noodle! :( The Vet recommended canned pumpkin to perhaps keep her regular. I don't know if she'll eat that. I'm thinking less crunchies on the side of her wet food. No wonder she was so cranky! How miserable she must have been.
What is it with my kitties and their digestive tracts? First Cody with his massive hair balls and now Cricket with her poo. Yuck!

My husband is not real pleased right now. $$$ has been flying out at a regular rate lately. Our health insurance is not the greatest this year. I just wish we could get a break! I imagine this will cost around $400.00, because that's how much it cost for Cody. Thank goodness for VISA!

I am just so glad that my Nurse Cricket will be home to sleep with me tonight. I hope she eats a big plate of stinky goodness for me.

Thank you all so much for your Love and Kindness. You are just The Best Ever! We all here at Twilight's Muse Love You.

Purr that Cricket can feel better and not have a tummy ache any more.
Now, let's just hope Billie and Toeshee will keep feeling well!

Someone Saved My Life Tonight

Cricket saved me.

Hi everyone. For most of this month I have been in a really bad RA flare up. The pain is constant. I went to my doctor last week and had x-rays to see how much joint damage has been done. The Methotrexate I have been on is just not working any more. I will be starting Enbrel along with a half dose of Methotrexate now. It's an injection once a week too.
My doctor called in a prescription for Vicoden for me because my pain was so unmanageable. Vicoden contains an opiate, which I discovered the hard way, I am allergic to.

I took a dose last Thursday so I could feel well enough to make dinner. At first I just felt a bit light headed, which was strange, but normal for that drug. I went upstairs just to lie down for a bit. By the time I reached my room I felt very, very sick to my stomach and the dizziness was overwhelming. I pretty much crashed on the bed and saw black.

Then I felt a rough tongue licking my hand. I opened my eyes to see Cricket staring at me. I closed my eyes as another wave of nausea and dizziness overcame me and the world went black again. But, once again I was roused by a persistantly rough tongue. I opened my eyes and she stopped licking and stared with what looked like concern into my eyes. Every time I closed my eyes Cricket would begin licking my hand and when I opened them she would stop and stare with those big green eyes searching my face. Finally, I was able to keep my eyes open and made myself sit up. I practically crawled off the bed and down the steps and Cricket followed me as if making sure I made it down. Then I was sick and barfing for most of the evening. If I had passed out I could have thrown up and well... choked on it. Plus my breathing had slowed down a bit as I hit the bed. She kept me awake.

Cricket saved me, I'm sure of it. She truly is a wonderful nurse kitty!

Now, I must deal with my pain with over the counter pain meds and hot baths and rest. I hope the Enbrel can start kicking the RA monster's butt soon. Until then, I am learning to take it easier on myself. No big dinners for the family every night, no obsessing over house cleaning.

My hands are throbbing and stiff and my left hip especially is so painfull. I'm tired of feeling so cruddy, but I'm so thankful for my kitties. Having pets really does make one feel better. They are funny, naughty, sweet, purring bundles of love. Never underestimate how much they are tuned into us.

Yes, this gives Cricket a free pass to basically get away with anything. :) Even my husband had to admit that she probably was concerned in her own weird way.

My daughter has made a full recovery and is now going to her college classes, complaining all the way. That's how I know she feels better. She hates adhering to a schedule. ;)

My husband's dad has now gone into Hospice. He is not doing well. He has fallen twice this past week and his heart is in "A Fib". We jump whenever the phone rings now, wondering if it's bad news about him.

I am trying to downplay how hurty I am so my husband doesn't feel any more stress. All in all, it's been a rough month. A long, cold month.

I miss visiting my bloggie friends so much! I haven't forgotten anybody okay?

My kitties and I send you love and purrs. I will try to visit when I get some free moments. I'm going to rest my hands for a bit now.

Be Nice 2010!

Oy! What a week!

Forgive us while Momma has nervous breakdown # 531.

The Teenagergirl's throat did not heal as well as expected. This past Sunday she started spitting out lots of bloods! Momma and The Daddyman took her to the ER and she had to have a spot in her throat cauterized. They had to put her under for that.
She is starting to feel lots better now. Seeing her daughter cough up all that blood made Momma cry, but she tried to be brave for Teenagergirl. The doctor said blood always looks like more mixed with saliva.

Cricket: This whole conversation about bloods is kinda bordering on the oogie! I'm just glad she is okay now!

Toeshee: Yes, and now maybe she can eat more delicious foods! I love delicious foods! I have been so bored lately. There are no birdies outside to watch.

Cricket: It has been boring. Cody played with me a few days ago, despite the limp he seems to have. Momma is thinking he might have a touch of arthritis, given his age. Better be nice to him Tubby, or you'll get the squirt bottle of water aimed in your direction!

Toeshee: Stop calling me Tubby! I'm big boned is all!

We hope you all are handling the Mid-winter blues okay. We would like to extend our sympathy and sadness to Whickey and his family over the loss of Angel. Another Furbaby Angel has joined many at the Rainbow Bridge.

Momma must play the catching up game with bloggie friends again.
We love you!

Now we can be Naughty again!

Rocking around the Christmas Tree

Hello, Cricket here. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and received all the gifts you wanted, no matter how Naughty you were.
I like to perch by the tree to relax and admire the lights. If you Bigafy this last picture though you can see who decided to pretend to be a pressie and sit under the tree. Pesky little bother Toeshee!

The Teenagergirl is on the mend slowly from her tonsilectomy. She is still quite hurty and taking a medicine for pain. She is eating soft food like mashed potatoes and soup and ice cream. Stuff she likes anyway, so that's good.

Momma is trying to help us blog and visit whenever she gets a free moment. She is looking forward to a quiet night alone in the family room with just us kitties and some lit candles and a cup of tea. She has been fighting the joint hurties, so we must be patient with her.

We hope you all are having a fantastic holiday week and we look forward to checking in on you all soon!

More naughtiness with Cricket

It feels so good to be naughty!

Almost as good as a warm sun beam...

Cricket, did you knock FiFi Feline out of her chair?

Maybe. Can't prove it if you didn't see me do it Momma! Why does she get a boa and a strand of pearls anyway?

Would you wear a feather boa and a strand of pearls Cricket?

For a price. A very big price!

I am not even going to ask what... Sigh~~

Hee Hee! Do something naughty Kitties. It is so fun!

Purrs,

Kitty Crush

Sylvestero and Crickiette

Sylvester is still coming by every day. His beans will not let him in, it seems and Momma feeds him and gives him scritchers and baby talk. She thinks that perhaps he has a crush on me because he makes a point of looking in the window when I am looking out. Notice that I do not look amused!
(Notice that Momma really needs to clean the window too!)

So far no one else has caught the flu and the Teenagergirl is getting better. Momma has had a nasty RA flare up and isn't sleeping really well, but for her this is becoming almost normal.

It has been rather mild and sunny here lately and it's nice to have that golden glow during the short daylight hours. Silly Momma has been getting into her pj's at around 7:00 pm almost every evening. Way to live it up Momma!

Well, not much else is new to report. We may put up our tree before Thanksgiving, just to cheer up the living room a bit. This time of year every little faerie light one can plug in helps chase away the dreariness.
We will get around to visiting all our blogging friends too, as that chases the blues too. We see Whickey visited us and that made Momma happy as she has been a bit worried about him and his siblings. Now, there's a handsome mancat!^..^

We hope you all have a great weekend!
Remember kitties; Be just a little bit naughty!

Cricket Here...

The flu is here.

Hi everyone, Cricket here. The teenagergirl has the flu. Momma is afraid it is the Really Bad One. She is very busy taking care of her and may not be able to get around to visiting all of our blogging friends.
We hope and purr that none of you get it!

Cricket tells a scary story

Hello, the perfect Halloween black Cat, Cricket here!

BOO!

Did I scare you? MOL!

Momma is fa-reaking out right now! Her and the Daddyman are refinancing their mortgage and an appraiser is coming over Monday. She has to come in the house. Pretty scary huh? See, Momma gets no help at all with house work and it takes her forever just to get the downstairs vacuumed and dusted because she has been so hurty.
The teenagergirls room should be declared a disaster zone! There is a spare bedroom that the Daddyman started to renovate, but never finished. It looks awful!
When the teenagergirl re-painted her room she moved out a lot of stuff into the front upstairs sitting room. It is a cluttered mess now! Momma can't even get to her window seat without crawling over stuff.
Needless to say she is very discouraged. She is going to do her best to get some things under control.
I say, why worry? After it's all done, the house payment is lower, which means more Nom Noms and toys for us kitties! And personally as a cat, I have no interest in how cluttered the house is. It's a big playground for me! I will help her by snoopervising of course.
Cleaning a house until it's spotless? For Momma, that's scary!

BOO!

Oh, yes, I must add that we are very excited to attend the wedding tomorrow! I must pick out the purrfect outfit. Would orange silk be too much?

Be naughty kitties!

It's Good to be Queen Cricket

Her way or the highway!

Yes, it's me Cricket. Yes, I am eating my stinky goodness with crunchies on the side In The Living room. Deal with it! Momma said I could and when it comes to us kitties she always lets us have our way.

What are you able to get away with at your house?

Have a happy, slightly naughty day!

October is Here

Rain is A Pain

Hello, Cricket here with another update. It rained last night, as you can tell from our dimly lit pictures. I told Momma no flashy thing and she listened. I hate that flashy thing! Toeshee and I settled in the living room. Billie for some reason has taken to going up to Momma's room. She never used to do that.
Cody likes to sleep in the dining room at night.
It's raining again today. The sun came out for a little bit, so Momma took a picture before the clouds came back.

She found a cute little journal for $ 3.00 and has decided to use it for an art journal. She thinks the pages will be different in colors and themes as the seasons and her moods change. She wants to try to work through her Big Sad this way. She says the best medicine is our purrs and company though. And visiting her nice Bloggie friends too!

Well, I am off to have a snack of Fancy Feast and then another cat nap.
Have a Happy Weekend and if you are a kitty do something just a little bit naughty for some fun!

Best Toy Ever

Cricket's Favorite Toy

Hello, Cricket here. I wanted to show you something that I have been playing with since last Fall. I actually went into the closet where Momma had it stored and dragged it out by it's string. I keep it behind the sofa and pull it out whenever I feel like having some fun. What is it?
A paper lantern for Halloween! Momma had it hanging from the front porch last year along with a garland of (fake) leaves. It looked really pretty. After Halloween she took it in and put it away. She, however, underestimated my "See, Want, Take," attitude. I just had to have that lantern! I love toys on strings that I can drag around the house and up onto the top of furniture. I'm like a jungle panther with my prey!
Of course I always get my way and Momma thought I was adorable playing with it. She always says, "Oh, oh, Cricket's getting the party decorations out!" when ever I start dragging my lantern around. It's all mine too! The other kitties do not like it. They like the nip toys when they play. I don't have anything against a good nip mouse on occasion, but the lantern is much more fun and kinda noisy when I drag it around.
Do any of you have an unconventional toy?

Momma spent most of the weekend resting. She gets very hurty if she stands or walks for a length of time. She said grocery shopping was awful!
She mostly just hangs out at home with a heat pack and pain reliever. Oh and good old Benadryl because her allergies are bad this year. Billie's too. And Cody has been hacking up a hairball like, every other day!
The other kitties got their Frontline treatment for fleas, but I did not. I seem to be allergic to flea medicine. My fur comes out where it is applied and I get all spacy and barf. That's okay though. I don't think any flea would dare to hop on me!

We hope you are all having a good September so far. Momma has been negligent in her visiting and will try to catch up this week.

Be Naughty Kitties!

Cricket Reports

Cricket gives her latest report.

Hello, Cricket here and I am not pleased as you may be able to tell from my expression.

We have intruders on our property! And Momma has been FEEDING THEM!
The black and white cat has been hanging around all summer. He supposedly has a home over on the next street, but they never seem to let him in. His name is Sylvester. He is skinny and Momma feels sorry for him. She asked the Daddyman to talk to the husband because they chat sometimes about man stuff. Daddyman said he doesn't want to bother him about the cat until it gets cold. Momma heard a story about that man's wife and she is worried about Sylvester. Let's just say this woman doesn't like cats very much. Momma doesn't know what to do.

The other kitty is a big tiger cat who comes to visit on our front porch a couple of times a week. Momma says his sad eyes melt her heart. He is very friendly and always very hungry. She calls him Tigger Roo or Rum Tum Tigger. (Snort! Whatever!) I call them both mooching trespassers!
I am the Queen of this old house! I do not like the smell of strange boy cats hanging around our house!
It's strange that we always have boy cats that come by. Momma says we have never had a girl kitty. Do people just kick boy kitties out because they don't bother to get them their hooha-ectomies, then get mad when they spray? Are people really that stupid? I must admit to feeling a little bit sorry for them if that's the case...

Momma needs to get to visiting blogs again. She had a flare up yesterday with a fever and all over hurty. She actually went to bed in the middle of a nice, sunny afternoon! I kept her company, being the good nurse that I am.
She has been fighting pink eye too. I told her to just take the pain medicine that makes her sleepy, make sure us kitties are fed, and go to sleep for a while. The Daddyman and Teenager girl can get their own NomNoms. As long as she is up to feed us again I think it's no big deal. Cats nap all the time!

Well efurryone, that's my report for the week. Cody will be posting his August Garden Tour when Momma is feeling better. Wait until you see the Dinner Plate size Hibiscus blooming in the front cottage garden!

Be naughty!
purrs,

Getting Spooky with Cricket

Getting Spooky with Cricket

Here I am with my laser eyes! Not once, but twice! Pretty spooky huh? Momma likes all of the laser eyes pictures she sees on the other kitty blogs, so when she took this picture, she was pleasantly surprised.
She also had fun with my name in splashes of bright colors.

We had a stormy weekend here. Now it looks like we may actually get some summer weather. Momma has been battling an upset tummy and hurty joints again. She is so tired of it! She is thinking about getting some peppermint oil at the health food store and putting it in tea or ice water. Does anyone know it this really works? CatNip makes us kitty's tummy's feel better, so maybe peppermint will help her.
She doesn't know what to do about the joint pain anymore. Her shots just are not working the way they used to. If only she could twitch her nose like on her favorite old tv show. Wow... think of all the Nomnoms and toys she could twitch up for us!

We will try to get around this week as much as we can. We missed some friends last week and now we are just plain behind with visiting everybody!
We send you all hugs and a happy beginning to the Golden month of August!

Black Cats On Friday

Black Cat Friday

Hello everyone. Cricket here to give my update. We lost our internet for a couple of days, but the Daddyman helped the man at the company figure out what was wrong. Now, we have lots of visiting to do!

We were tagged by Amy and her House of Cats and The Kewl Kitty Crew to post the 6th picture from our 6th folder. Finally Momma remembered! Only, the folder had just 4 pictures. So, she chose the last one. It's Cody outside last August with Momma on our front porch. He can go out at night if Momma is with him. He doesn't like it, but, those are the rules.

Toeshee and I got in a minor scuffle this morning. I settled it with a loud hiss and a good thwap! Momma hadn't had enough coffee yet to get involved.

This weekend will be cloudy and chilly. It's like that right now. After Momma gets our Nom Noms at the grocery store, she will probably just clean and read. Us kitties will nap of course.

We hope you all have a great weekend and I hope all you kitties find something naughty to do!

Hugs!~ Cricket

Nautiness Abounds!

Naughty Kitty Awards

The first nominee in the Naughty Kitty Awards is Cricket. She peed on the big blue (ugly) recliner again. Fortunately I put a plastic garbage bag on it and covered it with a towel, (Hey keep it classy!) so the poor towel was the loser in that round.

The second nominee is Toeshee with his continued abuse of that poor doorway and his pouncing on and biting poor Cody.

Cody gets an honorable mention for sneaking outside a couple of nights ago and making me hunt him down in the dark front yard with no shoes on.

And the winner of The Naughtiest Kitty Award is... It's a tie between Cricket and Toeshee! Would either of you like to give an acceptance speech?

"We plead the fifth, Momma!"

Cricket however would like to add; "Join the dark side and be naughty! We have cookies!"

Momma Lorianna says; "I think after I clean the house I'm taking a nap!"

Hugs everyone~ <3

Conversations with Cricket and Toeshee

Cricket and Toeshee Chat

"Toeshee, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"

"Um, yea Cricket. It would be great to be able to open our own cat food cans!"

"No! You dufus! I was wondering if we were going to be able to get back on a regular blogging schedule now that Momma is less hurty with her teeth."

"Oh, that would be nice. I was thinking that it would be a good idea to put more Party Mix on the grocery list. But I can't use this pen very well. It's fun to knock off the table though."

"I swear you must have floof for brains, Toeshee. Is that all you think about; eating and playing? There are other things. Intruder cats outside, spreading the joys of naughtiness and world cat domination and other important stuff. I'm glad Momma has at least one smart cat living here!"

"Who? Billie? Cody caught a mouse, so I guess he's pretty smart."

"Me! I'm the smartest one! Me, Cricket! Floof for brains!"

"That reminds me, I need to groom now."

I think I've had enough conversation with him for now. We will try to keep our Momma back on a blogging and visiting schedule now.
Be naughty kitties!

I'm starting to feel better. I can finally chew! Go me! Not much has changed around here. The kitties are all doing well, the house needs to be cleaned and the weather has more mood swings than a teenager. It's getting cooler and breezy and I think Mr. Sun is going to stay somewhere else for a few days. Time to do housework inside for a while I guess.
I will be visiting everyone now that I can form coherant sentences. :)
Lots of Hugs and Purrs from us!~
