Hoping and Wishing

Hoping and Wishing

A few days ago we had lovely warm weather. 85 degrees! The kitties were thrilled when I opened the window. Cricket was so funny. I asked her if she wanted the window and like Tookie, she understood what that meant, so she hopped up on the sill. Well, my hands do not work as well as they used to so I had a difficult time opening the storm window. Cricket became very impatient and actually growled at me! Then she made this little huffing sound and jumped down. I apologized and managed to get it open and she jumped back in, settling down with this sigh, that just spoke volumes. Clearly she was exasperated with me and must have thought I was teasing her. Cricket is very sensitive and has a bit of a temper. She's such a funny, spooky cat. :)

Toeshee loved the window too and when Cricket wasn't in it he was. Poor Billie never did get to sit in it. Cody took over at night.
Now, it's chilly and cloudy and we have had a lot of rain. I have been remiss in blogging and visiting. I'm trying to catch up and have been making sure to check in on the kitties that are sick. It has been a rough month for so many!
I hope May is better. It just has to be!

I light a candle every night, sometimes more than one and think about everyone who needs wishes and healing thoughts. A soft light glowing with hope. I wish I could do more... Still, Hope is a powerful thing and something that we all need.

My kitties and I send you all Love and Hope. Imagine a candle, bright in the window sending out hope and healing.

Candles and Naughty Noodle Make the New Year Bright

Candles for Healing and Cricket for Smiles

I have been lighting candles for people and their pets for quite a while. I bought that cute little kitty votive holder just for that purpose. Last night I lit candles to remember all of the loved ones who left us this past year and in the years past and for all of those who are sick right now as we begin a new year. Please think of all of our beloved ones and feel a sense of hope and Healing. Jelly Bean's sister Misty is very sick with kidney failure, so I made sure to let her mommy Deb know I had her in my thoughts. I know there are many more and I wish health and healing for you all. The Lilac candle is so fragrant and reminds me that Spring is coming and the sun will warm us all again.

Now, Cricket would like to share something very naughty that she did.

Hello, everyone. A few days ago I held my own little New Year's Eve drop. Toeshee likes to drink milk from a little cream cheese container that momma fills for him and she lets him drink it on the counter by the kitchen sink. (spoiled little brat!) I decided to jump up there and help myself to some and Toeshee sat on the kitchen floor and watched. That's when I had a wonderful idea! I knocked the dish over and it landed on him spilling milk all over him! Muhaha! He ran into the living room drenched in milk! I sat there innocently. "Oops! I accidently tipped the dish over!"
Momma didn't buy it. She knows me too well and knows how smart and coniving I am. She couldn't help but laugh and of course I didn't get punished. Toeshee doesn't even smell like spoiled milk anymore.
I took a chance getting into trouble and poor Momma had to clean it all up when she was hurty, but it was so worth it!
Happy Naughty New Year Kitties!
Hugs!

Angel Kisses And Flowers

I put new batteries in my camera yesterday and took pictures of what is in my heart. I have a beautiful Iris blooming right now. I don't remember planting it! I don't know it's actual name, so I named it based on it's colors. It is buttery daisy yellow with warm peach infused through it's ruffles. I call it Daisy Peach! I now have a gorgeous flower to remind me of two curly cats. :) My next Iris to bloom will have soft pastel Easter candy colors. Kinda like Jelly Beans. ;) It's also very ruffly and "Princessy " Maybe I will just rename all my flowers to honor my kitty friends!
I lit two candles for some kitties that have gone to the Bridge and for Kitties that are very sick. The little candle is called Angel Kisses. I want to send Angel kisses to everyone in need. The larger one is Vanilla Peach. It smells really nice.
Cricket and Billie wish to send happy kitty thoughts too. Cricket has been a little more affectionate and she really likes the windows being open. Billie is just happy to nap on her plaid scarf with Secret Squirrel.

To be honest this is kind of a hard week looming over me. One year ago, June 4, Tookie went to the Bridge. I still feel her loss so sharply sometimes it takes my breath away. I didn't have a digital camera when I had her, so I can't share pictures of her very well. We have a scanner, but our desktop computer is too old to be compatible with it. She was/is so beautiful.
It's difficult to be the only one still mourning her. I can't really talk about how much I miss her. Usually I get, "I know." or "She wouldn't want you to be sad." Well, duh! She's a kitty. She loved me the best way a kitty could and I loved her enormously. I got her in 1987 and she was all ready around two or three years old. I can't just get over it. I'm tired of feeling sad, but no way am I ever going to stop missing her.
This is how I feel and if I can't say how I feel in my blog, then I don't have anywhere else to go. Okay, probably too intense for a Monday. I do take solace knowing that there are so many in the blogasphere that I know of that would probably feel the same way.

I really hope you all have a lovely first week of June. May the weather be just the way you like it and may you find something summery to enjoy. Hug your kitties and woofies. Even if they are the grumpy sort, they love you too. =^..^=

Warm Thoughts. Loving Thoughts

I buy these every year. I have a lot of Hyacinths planted outside, but I usually have to wait until late April to see them in the garden. It's still so cold here and we have around two inches of snow left on the ground. I'm hoping winter takes his leave by March 20th. That's the first day of spring. In Michigan winter tends to overstay his welcome often well into April. I even remember flurries in May. Ick! I need to feel warm. I have not been able to get warm since winter began. I have been drinking a lot of coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. I've been wearing two pairs of socks with slipper socks over them. Thick hoodies with at least two long sleeved shirts underneath have pretty much been my standard clothing choice. I'm so tired of it. I want to wear something pretty, floaty, gossamer and feminine. But, really I'd settle for my blue jean capris and one of my cute tee shirts.
Now, onto important things. The candle above the flowers: There are some kitties and people in need of good thoughts and healing wishes that I am aware of. Some kitties are sick or missing. And I know there are some people right now that are mourning the loss of people that they loved very much. There are people mourning for their fur babies that have gone to the Rainbow bridge. So, as I go on throughout my day I will keep them all in my thoughts.
I hope the sun shines for us all this weekend. =^ ..^=

A Little Soft Light

Cricket likes to curl up on the arm of the sofa. I'm not sure why, I guess it's just a nice little perch for her. Yesterday we had weak sunshine streaming through the windows, not enough to warm, but enough to give her flattering light. :) I haven't been feeling very good and I just didn't have anything interesting to blog about. But, my cats are always inspiring. I saw my doctor Friday and she wants to send me to a new Rheumatologist. My fingers are curling in more and my eyes have a bit of inflamation. They just look kinda bloodshot *-* and I'm a little light sensitive. So now I go see this new doctor in May. I'm told she is very nice and very thorough. I'm still hoping for mobility in time to play in my gardens. I bought a new candle Friday night. It's called Sun and Sand and it actually sparkles like sand when you look closely at it. Maybe they put some in the wax? It smells like cocoa butter and has a background note of fresh citrus. It reminds me of when you get to the beach and you immediately smell suntan oil and fresh air. It's so nice! The color is a creamy, sandy color and imparts a sense of calm and well being to people and pets. (According to my candle color chart) Cricket looks pretty calm huh? It hasn't worked on Cody yet. He seems to get bored quite quickly. I'm wondering if cats can have hyper activity problems? He's 13 and not calming down. We have had him since he was 8 and his friskiness has never wavered. He does sleep a bit more now and he is not nocturnal at all. I'm just glad he's healthy. That's the best we can hope for with our fur babies. Life would be sad without them. Well, I think it's time for me to take a hot shower and have some more coffee. Cookies won't bake themselves!

A Warm Glow Of Comfort

Isn't this pretty? It was in my e-mail from someone in my pet loss group I joined. (It's a Yahoo group) It's a memorial candle for remembering anyone, person or pet that has passed on. I love candles and I have lots of them in various sizes and lots of fragrances. Last night I lit a lavender candle and it really did seem to impart a sense of calm. Daughter worked on homework after dinner without complaint, and she didn't complain about dinner either, come to think of it. :) I have to keep all my candles on our entertainment center because of the cats, especially Cody and his tail. I swear that tail of his can clear off a coffee table in seconds flat. If we have a beverage on it we immediately move them by pushing them aside until he passes or actually picking up the glass or mug and holding it until he walks by.
My favorite all purpose go to candle to light for people and animals that need prayers and blessings is a Guardian Angel candle that I found in the Latin foods section of the grocery store. I'm still not sure why it's there, but okay. It's just an unscented white candle in a glass holder with a picture of an Angel guiding two children over a bridge. It gives off a comforting soft glow and I try to envision it's light washing over those who I light it for. Which reminds me... it's over half burned, so I better add a new one to my grocery list today. Because there is always someone who could use a little light on the path of life. Oh, I keep a little kitty figurine by it, but I will light it for any fur baby. (sigh, even skunks) So, if you'd like me to light it let me know and I will. :)
